Follow the glorious footprints of wedding gowns from Queen Victoria’s to Grace Kelly’s, and witness how such timeless designs are adapted to modern wedding gowns.

Wedding gowns really were not meant to be white – back to the Medieval times, gowns for royal members were of expensive velvet, silk, satin and fur, woven in red, purple, blue or even black. The more material used, the more sleeves flowed and the longer the train, the richer the bride’s family was apt to be.

Heavily influenced by royal weddings, the trend of wedding gowns then evolves from nymph-like high-waists to Victorian white-laces, high-necks and long-sleeves.

inMAGAZINE is now ready to highlight some of the wedding gown features from the early 1800s to the late 1900s.
